The term psychiatry is derived from the Greek words psyche, meaning "mind" or "soul," and iatreia, meaning "healing." Psychiatry is the science and practice of diagnosing, treating, and preventing mental disorders.

Dr. Joyce Smolarski offers caring and compassionate treatment for the conditions listed below. Our goal is to help you achieve a balance, comfort, and security regarding any psychiatric disorder that you may be experiencing.

Should your care require a referral for psychotherapy or cognitive therapy, then Dr. Joyce Smolarksi will work closely with that therapist as a team on behalf of our patient.
